Rene Descartes opened a Pandora’s box in our ideas about consciousness. His dualistic model of humanity described the ephemeral but intelligent ‘soul’ as located within a mechanistic human body that is obedient to physical laws. As we move from an industrial to an ecological era, “A Beautiful Accident” presents a series of speakers that take us on a journey of alternative notions of consciousness for the 21st century.
