{"id":1122,"date":"2022-02-04T15:49:34","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T13:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metamorf.no\/2024\/?p=1122"},"modified":"2024-08-28T14:15:33","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T12:15:33","slug":"about-teks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metamorf.no\/2024\/about-teks\/","title":{"rendered":"Trondheim Electronic Arts Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>TEKS <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2013<\/span><\/span><strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Trondheim Electronic Arts Centre <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2013 is a non-profit resource and competence platform for art and technology established in 2002.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TEKS<\/strong> <\/span>facilitates the production and dissemination of art practices that make use of new technologies, and\/or comment on the development of technology and society today.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TEKS<\/strong><\/span> is the initiator and producer of the <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Trondheim International Biennale for Art and Technology \u2013 Meta.Morf<\/strong><\/span>, the art lab <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TEKS.studio<\/strong><\/span>, the publication archive <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Norwegian Media Art Library<\/strong><\/span>, the publishing platform <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TEKS.press<\/strong><\/span>, and <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>FAEN \u2013 Female Artistic Experiments Norway<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Artistic and scientific research continuously challenges our perspectives on life, bringing us new philosophical and existential questions. Biotechnology, nanotechnology, neuroscience, and new communication and computer technologies represent examples of disciplines that expand the boundaries of artistic ideas and expressions.<\/p>\n<p>The artist as communicator and interpreter of new scientific insights plays an important role in society&#8217;s ability to critically reflect on new technologies and their possible areas of application. Artistic practice can at the same time contribute to innovation and breakthroughs in various fields of research through its ability to operate outside of consensus and recognized positions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">TEKS.studio<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>TEKS.studio works as both an exhibition space, and a laboratory for artistic practices within the field of art and technology. The studio aims to facilitate the production and dissemination of artistic expressions that make use of new technologies and\/or shed light on technology development and its application.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;
